Are cats and dogs in pet food, how can this be true? Welcome to Soylent Green! Read about this atrocity.

“Cats and dogs in pet food, how can this be true?”

It has always been true. Since I started my practice in veterinary medicine I had clients who worked in various pounds and animal shelters who told me so. They said “when they euthanize animals who were sick, old, unadoptable or just too many, they would be euthanized and a truck from the rendering plant would pick up their bodies to be rendered.

Rendering is when you take the animals and boil their bodies until they fall apart. This is the procedure that grandma would perform in the kitchen after a holiday dinner to a carcass of a leftover turkey or chicken. The body (carcass) is boiled until it falls apart and the pieces of the meat and bone fall to the bottom of a big household pot or giant commercial cauldron in the case of a rendering plant.

To speed up the process, grandma would use a big wooden spoon to stir the turkey or chicken, while the  commercial rendering tank is equipped with giant paddles.

When the stirring stops in the  pot , the fat rises to the top of the boiling water because fat is lighter than water. The fat is then skinned off by grandma or pumped out in the case of the giant commercial rendering plants. In any case, the procedure is called “rendering” or “capturing” fat of dead animals. The fat of dead animals is the most valuable component of the animal. It is the most caloric-dense part and has the best texture and taste. That is why grandma rendered it and put it in a jar for use in frying and baking. Of course she was rendering it for human  consumption in food that was left over after a family dinner.

Not exactly what goes on pet food!

Pet food rendered products from dead, disabled, dying, diseased animals. These animals are deemed not safe for human consumption, and are forbidden to be sold to people by USDA and FDA. This is similar to the word poisonous or very unsafe.

Also in  this mix of garbage is the stuff that is not skimmed off the top but settles to the bottom of the cauldron because it is heavier than water. These are the bones, the hooves, the heads, feet, lungs, cartilage, stomach and intestinal tract, ect.

These waste products are what is left after the water used for “cooking down” the carcass is drained off. Now this mess may include flea collars, regular collars, name tags, rabies tags, ear tags, and leg bands.

Next this conglomeration of  bones and tissues, stomach and intestine tracts, often with their contents and identification accessories are dried and then run through a “hammer mill”  that beats this mess into a fine powder whose particles are so small you would think that it was brown sugar. The metal pieces are so small that that they are sucked through the screens and are undetectable by looking at  the final product. The undetectable pieces of various metals including aluminum are highly toxic and cause advanced aging, dementia, and the dreaded and mispronounced “ALZHEIMER'S” disease, named after the German physician Dr. Alois Alzheimer in 1906. Let’s start to pronounce his name correctly. His name is not “old timer”, or “Alltimer”.

This mess used to be sold as fertilizer but now sells at a premium and is the major component of dry pet food.  “Yummy, yummy, I have crap in my tummy” and I die at ¼ of the life span that my great dog father and my great cat fathers enjoyed in the 1940’s.

Wow, what a great contribution to the advancement of veterinary medical science and to the financial boom  of the pet food cartel.

You thought you were saving so much money by buying beautifully packaged, incredibly expensively advertised, chronically deadly garbage. Crap! Look at who told you to feed it. They never ate it, but you give it to the pets that give you everything including unconditional love. Why? Because you were programmed since you were a child with misinformation and lies.

I have eaten from a can of Cornucopia of every size, of every flavor, of every batch that was made for the last half of a century. Why? Because the animals are my children and if they are going to get sick from Cornucopia, then I will get sick before any of it is sold and shipped. It is impossible for you to receive a can from me that I have not eaten.

Why? Because the animals are my children, and I take responsibility for my children.

Blessings and love,

Doc
