Goodbye Gluten
As people start to eat “gluten free” for various health reasons, their pets are following! Pet foods containing gluten are typically harder to digest than those without. Since in a wild state, animals eat more protein and less carbohydrates; a “gluten free” diet can help regulate their digestive system.
As we try to eat healthier, we forget that our pets need to eat better too! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term “gluten free,” gluten is the general name given to proteins found in wheat, rye, barley, and triticale. Gluten helps foods maintain their shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. Unfortunately, it can also be very hard on the stomach.
If your pet is experiencing chronic skin problems or itchiness while eating a food that contains gluten, it’s recommended that you change their pet food to one that’s gluten free. Cornucopia Pet Foods are gluten free and contain no wheat, corn, or soy! Your pet’s health is important to us, and feeding your cat or dog high-quality, human-grade, “gluten free” pet food is our goal.
